Has anyone noticed an increase in max req 8 drops recently? I've gotten a few blues and a couple whites all max req 8 while farming Vaettirs today in HM. From my understanding I had never seen a req 8 drop in HM for a very long time, so whats the deal?

To add to this, I've gotten a lot of non max things in HM as well, which isn't as weird to me, but still worth mentioning.

It would be a very very nice surprise if they changed something positively with the drops but likely it was either a streak of luck or perhaps you started looking at things you didn't watch as carefully before.

I'm going to do some farming now, I think I'm able to spot drop anomalies almost instantly so we shall see.

Been murdering Vaettirs for over 3 straight hours and observed NO drop anomalies of any kind. The dmg ranges, req ranges, proportion of max drops to nonmax, and even gold values and everything is like everyday.

Got zero max req.8s of any color but that's to be expected, in that time on average I'd get between 0-3 of them and even a higher number of them wouldn't be enough to call it an anomaly.

So even with this very small sample it's 99.9% safe to say that no change occured in the drop system except for the tons and tons of special event drops.

I tried out our favorite lvl 23s in Minister Cho's and noticed nothing too irregular.

I did have 6 golds on my first run (and died running through the menagerie, so all before that) which is odd, but not unheard of.

Funnily enough, the first (and only) staff to drop was a white with 18% HSR. I'd seen two with that mod in the many hours farming there before.

Still, nothing I haven't seen in the last few years.

I did notice a few more blue/white q8 offhands and shields than usual while farming the Vaettirs, but I highly doubt that they changed something. If they did, it's probably just for the 7th anniversary, nothing more.

Edit: @Bright: I actually got a Sun and Moon Shield q8/16 blue last week in DoA, so I guess it's random.

To be honest, I have seen a big decrease in max q8 gear in HM DoA. I used to pop out at least 1 q8/16 inscr blue shield per 10-15 runs, but that changed drastically a couple of months ago. Now I've only gotten one in like 4 months. My amount of DoAing has dropped quite a bit, but I would still have to get some of them. The amount of white q8/16 shields has remained constant in my personal experience though. I haven't done a DoA in a while, and I won't do any this weekend, but I'll try to watch it and see if it looks changed, but I highly doubt it.

I say it's streaks of luck. When I used to do multiple Frostmaw runs per day with my guild, we would get a few run clusters here and there where we would get q8 shields. Then nothing would happen and a few more would drop later on. I even got a q8 purple shield, which I had never gotten before. In all my time playing, that was the only place I ever got a q8 inscribable purple shield.

I get those staves like they're going out of style.. it's quite annoying really lol.
